It is
always a wonderful feeling to play in an open beta of games like Ghost
Recon: Wildlands. It give a perfect idea of what to expect from the game in future after
release. Needless to say, I was eager to try it out. The concept
was extremely cool as I saw in trailers.
When I
started the game to play, game threw me in the thinking corner with soldier customization. Apparently, you can create your own soldier to your liking and
that was really cool.
The
setting is in Bolivia in July of 2019. You are a special force soldier, part of
a fictional elite team known as the Ghosts. Your main task is to wipe out a
Mexican drug cartel , the Santa Blanca. You have 3 more soldiers with you
for synchronized combat gameplay.
Initially,
it all seemed very cool and you get this feeling that it will only get better.
Sadly, it doesn’t. The objective usually consists of gathering intel, but
sometimes you’re also on rescue operations to save certain allies or friends.
Obviously,
this is only the open beta and the full build will definitely have more content
and much more to do. So far, it just feels way too simple and repetitive.
The gameplay
also isn’t bad.I can say that the combat and traveling are very smooth. You
have complete freedom to choose where you go next. Once you arrive at a certain
objective, you also have the freedom to decide how you want to approach it.
By
far, the most fun i had was playing with a group of people. You have the
option of playing the entire game by yourself, or you can party up with four
other players via cooperative online multiplayer. Playing with friends or other
people online is where the game truly shines.
There’s
nothing like gathering up a bunch of friends and tackling some missions
together. Surprisingly, I got into it and actually felt like I was a real
soldier trying to make the whole place better. There were also many fails and
funny moments, which make for some good memories.
